Information About Photography

Computational Photography: A lot of what I am doing requires that the images that I take with the camera run through a series of processing steps. Panoramic images need to be merged, HDR images need to be "blended" and all images get run through a series of digital filters. My notes on these processes are not very well organized. This is a work in progress.

My Working Notes: My Photography link for access to information about photography (from my perspective).  This includes still, panoramic, HDR, confocal photography, tilt-shift, as well as other specialized techniques. It also lists my hardware. Note, in particular, that Plan B travel is highlighted on this page.

Research Projects

Research Hotspot: Digital Library

Virtually all of my print materials have been digitized and run through OCR. This is a private library and items are not available to the public. However, you can see the contents of the library on the above link. Note that this library consists primarily of books and research papers. Other documents have been scanned but are not included in this library. The original paper copies consisted of more than a full wall of my office (floor to ceiling) of shelf space. The size of the scanned version of the library is less than 16GB.

Research Hotspot: The Open Science Network for Ethnobiology (OSN)

OSN Development Links

The OSN project is bringing links to curriculum materials for ethnobiology courses (broadly defined) into a single site. As the site grows, it will provide a wealth of information that will help instructors develop and assess their courses. The resources include modules which have been peer reviewed.
