Kim, Mark and Will and Nat are planning to visit NTBG Lawai with Kawika and Chipper on Saturday 11/21 in order to review our plans for the field school. 

Here is a rough list of what we plan to discuss.

1. Instructional Schedule: 
A plan (good weather): Teach entirely outside with plants, people, and hands-on examples. 
B plan (rainy weather): Teach inside when needed, outside if can and use a mix of power point and hands-on. In both cases, need to maximize the potential of the Kauai environment and minimize doing things that could just as easily have been done at UH Manoa... [The students are paying a lot of money for a field experience that is different from a class room experience.]

2. Transportation: When will vehicles be used and where? Who will be driving?

3. Housing: How will the students and staff be sorted into housing? When do be plan to be specifically in each location?

4. Meals: Where will meals be prepared and where should the food be purchased from? We have a cook and helper. Where should they be lodging?

5. Kauai Resources: Who else should be involved to make this a more rich course? What places should be teaching at that will improve the quality of instruction? Are there other resources that are connected to NTBG that we don't know about?
